
On Broadway Leon designed Impressionism and Joe Turner’s Come and Gone, for which he received a Tony Nomination. He was also the Associate Designer on the Tony award winning South Pacific, as well as the 3-part epic The Coast of Utopia. More recent work includes Sleeping Beauty Wakes and A Midsummer Night’s Dream At La Jolla Playhouse, Timon of Athens at the Public in NYC and Play Dead, currently playing to rave reviews at the Players Theater in Greenwich Village, NYC.
In addition to theater, other work includes the soon to be released independent feature Love is Black Water, as well as several short films both live action and animation. Leon was Assistant Sound Designer for Cirque’s LOVE and Ka in Las Vegas, and Corteo on tour in Europe and Russia.
Leon served on the Theater faculty at CalArts, and spent the Fall of 2009 teaching at Bennington College in Vermont. He holds a B.M. in Composition from Oberlin Conservatory, a B.A. from Oberlin College in Computer Science and an M.F.A. from California Institute of the Arts.
